Project objectives
The Corridor to Zero EU initiative strategically targets the development of two key corridors:
-
Route 1 “Latitude” Western Europe – Ukraine: Rotterdam – Kyiv
-
Route 2 “Longitude” North Baltic – Balkans: Helsinki – Ljubljiana
This is about more than just roads; it's about decarbonizing the future across all of Europe.
In analyzing the current state of EV infrastructure, it's evident that the car charging network across the EU has made significant strides, offering comprehensive coverage for personal EVs. However, a major gap exists in the heavy truck sector. Corridor to Zero EU addresses this by proposing the development of a robust and interconnected network of high-capacity charging stations for heavy trucks. This initiative is not merely an ambitious plan but a necessary strategic response to the industry's challenge of creating a sustainable ecosystem for electric heavy transport–by building the corridor we will catalyze the decarbonization of road freight across Europe.
