About European Corridor to Zero
The European Corridor to Zero strives to solve the chicken and egg problem plaguing the decarbonization of heavy transport. Without the capability to charge a trucking fleet on the road, transport and logistics companies continue to order combustion engines. At the same time, without a large demand for 350kW-1MW charging stations (as well as Biomethane and H2 fueling infrastructure), new ones for the trucking market are not being installed. As a result the market keeps stagnating as no single entity has the proper incentives to decarbonize freight transport.
While solving the problems of decarbonizing freight transport, the European Corridor to Zero actively supports the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine. We want to connect their transport and energy sectors with the European zero emission corridor and fortify ties to the EU.
There is a current opportunity to shape a brighter future transport and energy. This future is Emission-Free and Electric. The Corridor to Zero EU initiative strategically targets the development of two key corridors:
-
Route 1 “Latitude” Western Europe – Ukraine: Rotterdam – Kyiv
-
Route 2 “Longitude” North Baltic – Balkans: Helsinki – Ljubljiana
This is about more than just roads: it's about decarbonizing the future across all of Europe.
